Although death is a universal phenomenon, our response to it is often shaped by our environment.  Broadening our perspective to include an understanding of cultures, religions, and different psychological, ethical, or legal perspectives  increases our awareness and further shapes our understanding of death.

Dying Well is a venue for students to develop their ideas related to death and dying.  That being said, students in GEY4641 are challenged to examine their personal attitudes toward the  psychological, medical, legal, ethical, religious, and cultural aspects of death, dying, and bereavement.  Dying Well aims to take our discussions outside of the classroom—making the issues of death and dying more visible to the public!

So, who are we?

The bloggers on Dying Well are the students enrolled in and the instructor for Death & Dying GEY 4641 at the University of South Florida.

  1. am glad students are taking this class, it should be offered more! I think you may enjoy my death and dying website as it offers interactive materials on death and dying as well as a compilation of digital stories i have been doing with well known folks on death and dying. Let me know what you think!
